Opportunity overview
This six-month internship supports UNICEF China’s policy and advocacy work on child health and nutrition. The team addresses challenges such as early-childhood care, unhealthy food environments, childhood overweight and obesity, and the wider policy and market conditions that affect children’s well-being.
Working with UNICEF specialists and external partners, the intern will help turn research and evidence into policy-relevant materials. The experience offers practical exposure to policy analysis, stakeholder coordination, advocacy preparation and programme operations within an international organization.
What you will work on
- Review Chinese and international policies, academic research, technical guidance and programme evidence related to child health and nutrition.
- Help prepare policy briefs, evidence summaries, concept notes, presentations, background papers and advocacy materials.
- Support technical meetings, consultations and workshops by preparing agendas, presentations and supporting documents.
- Assist routine coordination with government counterparts, universities, research organizations, implementing partners and other stakeholders.
- Translate, edit, format and proofread materials in English and Chinese, while supporting programme documentation and follow-up.
Who should consider applying
- Open to Chinese nationals who are at least 18 and enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate programme.
- Relevant fields include nutrition, public health, finance, governance, social science or a related discipline.
- Strong research, literature-review, synthesis and policy-analysis ability.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin is required; previous health-policy, research or programme-coordination exposure is an asset.
