Opportunity overview

The Procurement Services Manager leads a large and complex procurement-services portfolio for UNICEF’s Ethiopia Country Office. The role connects procurement delivery with wider programme priorities and national supply-chain strengthening, while building partnerships with government bodies, development partners, banks, programme teams and implementing organizations.

This is a strategic and managerial position. The successful candidate will oversee planning, forecasting, partnership development, implementation, monitoring and communication around procurement services, with responsibility for using resources effectively and leading professional and support staff.

What you will work on

  • Lead planning, forecasting, implementation, project management and monitoring for the procurement-services portfolio.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with government, development partners, financial institutions, programme teams and implementing partners.
  • Connect procurement services to supply-system strengthening, programme delivery and country or regional priorities.
  • Support end-to-end supply-chain improvement, supply financing, capacity development and government relations.
  • Increase internal and external understanding of procurement services while managing teams, resources, risks and results.

Who should consider applying

  • An advanced university degree in business administration, management, logistics, supply-chain management, procurement, international development, health or a related field.
  • At least eight years of relevant experience in procurement, supply management, logistics, project management, public procurement, capacity building or related areas.
  • Strong change-management, resource-management, supervision, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Fluency in English is required. Another UN language, a local language, project-management experience or emergency experience is an asset.
