Opportunity overview
UNICEF is establishing a roster of immunization specialists who can be deployed quickly to help countries identify and reach zero-dose and under-vaccinated children. The work supports the equity goals of Immunization Agenda 2030 and Gavi 6.0, particularly in remote rural areas, urban and peri-urban settlements, conflict settings and communities experiencing multiple forms of deprivation.
Roster members may provide technical assistance in one or several countries. Assignments can involve coverage and equity assessments, zero-dose strategies, integrated service delivery, data use, monitoring, capacity strengthening and documentation of lessons for wider use.
What you will work on
- Help countries plan and conduct coverage and equity assessments and multi-deprivation analyses.
- Review administrative, survey and qualitative data to identify missed children, geographic gaps and barriers to vaccination.
- Design or strengthen strategies for zero-dose reduction, catch-up vaccination and integrated service delivery across the life course.
- Develop monitoring frameworks, indicators and learning plans that support adaptive programme management.
- Produce technical reports, tools, guidelines, case studies and knowledge products, and support country or regional coordination when deployed.
Who should consider applying
- An advanced degree in medicine, public health, health policy and management, social or behavioural science, or a related field.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in immunization or health-programme planning, management and implementation.
- Experience with national immunization programmes, primary healthcare, coverage and equity assessments, and strategies for zero-dose children.
- Strong analytical and writing skills; fluency in English and/or French is required. Field experience and statistical-software proficiency are advantages.
