UN Volunteer: Governance Data and Analytics Specialist – Norway

Opportunity overview

This remote assignment supports the UNDP Global Policy Centre for Governance in its work on SDG 16 measurement, reporting and governance-data analytics. The Centre helps strengthen national governance-statistics systems, improve data sharing and interoperability, and make governance evidence more useful for policy decisions.

The specialist will contribute to research, capacity strengthening and accessible data products while supporting UNDP’s custodianship role for selected SDG 16 indicators and wider discussion about the future of governance measurement.

What you will work on

  • Support knowledge sharing and learning related to SDG 16 indicators and governance statistics.
  • Contribute research and policy analysis on governance measurement and the post-2030 development framework.
  • Assist capacity-strengthening and advocacy work with national and international partners.
  • Help improve data sharing, interoperability, transparency and evidence-informed decision-making.
  • Turn complex data into accessible briefs, dashboards, reports and practical guidance.

Who should consider applying

  • A master’s degree in statistics, governance, social sciences, data science or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in governance, gender or justice data and analytics.
  • Strong data-management skills, experience with database languages and the ability to develop understandable knowledge products.
  • Fluent English is required; another UN language is desirable. Candidates must have the legal right to work from their remote location.
